Strategic Business Systems (SBS) is Hiring a Human Resources (HR) Manager Near Chantilly, VA

SBS is a rapidly-growing IT services company that is seeking a motivated individual to join our Corporate Team as a Human Resources (HR) Manager. This role is hands on, full life cycle and is predominately an on site position in Chantilly. Some hybrid/remote working options will be given after the resource has established themselves.
Key Objectives and Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for the administration and management of key HR processes:
  • Serve as a corporate representative to all current and former employees for a variety of HR needs
  • Serve as liaison between employees and various corporate functions, to include recruiting, security, finance, training, and IT departments
  • Main POC with HR vendors and auditors: Insurance broker, 401k advisor, TPA's
  • New Hire Processing (offer letter, background screening, orientation, on-boarding paperwork)
  • Payroll Administration (semi-monthly processing for hourly and salaried employees in multiple states and internationally)
  • Benefits Administration (enrollment, bill reconciliation and payment, employee education, claim resolution, COBRA compliance)
  • Separation Processing (exit interviews, paperwork, unemployment claims)
  • Maintenance of HR artifacts, including personnel actions, electronic records
  • Employment verification process (communication, documentation)
  • Interact with Professional Services Managers to address and resolve performance issues or concerns
  • Monitor and actively participate in the performance management program to include annual performance reviews and update as necessary
  • Manage the Employee Welfare and Morale program
  • Maintain compliance reporting and initiatives including AAP, EEOC, VETS, OSHA, Form 5500
  • Provide recommendations to leadership team regarding new initiatives, policies, and processes to attract and retain top talent
Capabilities and Competencies for Success:
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain DoD clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and five (5 ) years of Human Resources experience
  • Knowledge of HR practices and principles, and all applicable employment, compensation, benefits, and safety laws and regulations
  • Payroll processing experience using HRIS platform (Paycom preferred) with general knowledge of key concepts such as earning and deduction codes, federal state tax and international withholding, timesheet reconciliation, and approving personnel actions)
  • Excellent candidate and employee-facing skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and in team environment
  • Handle employee information and privacy with utmost confidentiality and professionalism
  • Understanding of core business functions and how they relate to Human Resources and Recruiting
Nice to Have:
  • PHR certification
  • Active DoD clearance
  • FSO experience or interest
  • Experience managing resources on Federal contracts
